Taking on a new office application can be a challenge, especially if you've worked with another program for several years. The information and links on this page are designed to help you find comparable tasks in Symphony that you may perform in current office productivity suite.

Lotus Symphony
There is a toolbar icon called the Format Painter which allows you to copy a variety of formatting from one location to another. Microsoft Word, *.doc, *.docx
The toolbar icon in Symphony is called Duplicate Formatting -

Like the Format Painter, it is available in each editor and allows you to copy formatting from one location to another. The feature is also available from the menu Edit

To create a new line in a cell, you can use the keystroke Alt+Enter.
To create a new line, use Ctrl+Enter while editing within the cell.

Track Changes to track edits made to a document.
Use Edit
 
Revisions to track changes among users on a document.
Access list of styles using Format
 
Styles and Formatting.
Access the Style List with the F11 key, or select Layout
 
Style List. You can also dock the list by holding down the Ctrl key and double-clicking in an empty area of the dialog box.
Microsoft PowerPoint
Symphony Presentations
To start a slide show from the current slide, click the slideshow icon in the lower left corner -
Use Shift+F5 to start a slideshow from the current slide.
To add slides from another file, use Insert
 
Slides from Files.
To add slides from another file, use Create
 
New Pages from File. This is a great way to build a new Symphony presentation leveraging slides from your existing files.
