1. To make great looking PDF files from Symphony, choose File > Export and select PDF as the file type.
2. Send your current document from Symphony embedded in the Notes 8 client, using File > Send to > Mail.;
3. Set Symphony to open all your Microsoft Office and SmartSuite files using File > Preferences > IBM Lotus Symphony > File Type Associations.;
4. Change the number of Recent Files on the file menu under File > Preferences > IBM Lotus Symphony > File Supervision.;
5. To open more than one file at the same time, hold Ctrl while you click the file names, then click Open.;
6. Add your own colors to the Symphony color palette under File > Preferences > IBM Lotus Symphony > Colors.;
7. If you have a minimum of 1 GB of RAM, you can get better performance by enabling High performance optimization under File > Preferences > IBM Lotus Symphony.;
8. Set the maximum number of Undo steps under File > Preferences > IBM Lotus Symphony > Memory.;
9. Use your OS default web browser instead of the Symphony browser by changing the setting under File > Preferences > Web Browser.;

36. Document tip: Lotus Symphony automatically converts URL's into hyperlinks. You can use the CTRL + Z to undo the hyperlink immediately or go to Layout > Properties > Default at a later time.;

38. Presentation tip: To start the slide show from the first slide use the F5 key.;

76. Need a quick table? Click Table > Freehand Table and start drawing your table using the mouse. Add rows and columns as needed.
77. Spreadsheet tip: To specify data validation options from another sheet, define a name for the range, then go to Manipulate > Validity to specify the criteria
78. How can I use my own presentation templates? Let's say the templates are stored under a certain of folder in your local disk, in order to use your own templates, you would need to import this folder to Symphony's template library. UI entry: "File -> Template Organizer -> Launch"
79. It’s hard to maintain the figures/tables numbering when there are plenty of them within the document, especially when there are references, is it possible that I can update them automatically? Yes. First, you would need to add captions to the figures/tables, when you want to make them as references in the document, you may use "Cross-reference" function, once the sequence of the figures/tables changes, the corresponding reference field will be automatically updated. UI entry: "Create -> Caption"; "Create -> Cross-reference"
80. Can I create entries for my document automatically? Yes. First, you would need to implement the styles for different entries in your document, and then use "Index/Table" to create entries. UI entry: "Create -> Index and Table -> Entry"
81. How can I change the default dictionary for current document? If you already have other dictionaries installed, you may switch the dictionary under "Language" section at "Font" tab of "Paragraph Properties" dialog. UI entry: "Layout -> Properties -> Paragraph Properties"
82. Can I change my text properties quickly? Yes. Symphony provides a very useful function – SIDEBAR, which is located at the right panel of the document screen, allows you to change text properties conveniently.
83. Can I split page in different columns? Yes. You may split page in one, two or three columns and adjusting the column width and spacing within the “Columns” dialog. UI entry: "Layout -> Columns"
84. I could not find the "Format Painter" in Symphony, is there a similar function? Yes. Symphony has another name for it, which is called "Duplicate Formatting". UI entry: "Edit -> Duplicate Formatting"
85. Can I customize my own format style list for my document? Yes. "F11" would bring up the "Style List" dialog, and then you may modify the existing styles or even create new styles.
86. I often want to show part of my presentation, can I customize my screen show? Yes. "Custom Screen Shows" allows you to create your own sequence, and do not forget to modify the screen show setting to use your defined screen show. UI entry: "Presentation -> Custom Screen Shows "Presentation -> Screen Show Settings"
87. Can I create a linkage to a certain page in Presentation? Yes. By selecting the text box or shape, and apply with interaction, you would be able to jump to previous/next/first/last page or to exit presentation. UI entry: right-click on the object and select “Interactions” from the popup context menu
88. Can I distill all page titles in Presentation? Yes. "Summary Page" function may distill all titles in one page for you. UI entry: "Create -> Summary Page"
89. I cannot find any templates for Document and Spreadsheet, can I create them from templates? Yes. Although there are no Document and Spreadsheet templates integrated in Symphony, we provided many cool templates on Symphony website; you may download them to your local machine.

90. Can I install other dictionary or third party dictionary to Symphony? Yes. You may install additional dictionaries to Symphony through “Feature Update” wizard. UI entry: "File -> Application -> Install"
91. Is there any other table layouts besides the pure table in Document? Yes. Symphony provides some pre-defined table layouts, you may click on "Table Styles" button from "Create Table" dialog. UI entry: "Table -> Create Table" or use function shortcut "Ctrl+F12"
92. I want to send a file with same content to multiple recipients, such as invitation letter, any function may fulfill such demand? Yes. "Mail Merge" function allows you to achieve such demand, you would need to define the recipients and email addresses in a file, in ".ods", ".csv", or ".nsf" format, you may import the file and send them out using "Send E-mail" function in "Mail Merge" sidebar, you may still need to follow the help if you are new to such function, and currently it only supports Notes client. UI entry: "Tools -> Mail Merge"
93.Spreadsheet tip: You can fill in same value for multiple cells by selecting the cells, key in value to fill and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter.
