Using the Template Organizer
You can add Symphony and Microsoft PowerPoint templates to the organizer for easy access. Follow the steps below to save and organize existing templates in the Template Organizer in Lotus Symphony 3.

Step
Action
1
Store your templates anywhere on your computer. For example, C:\Symphony Files\Templates
2
Open any existing file or create any new file in Symphony. This step is needed because the Template Organizer will not be available from the File menu if you are on the Symphony home tab.

From the menu choose File > Template Organizer.

(Optional) To create a new category folder that is descriptive of the templates you want to import, right-click on an existing category name, choose New and enter a category name.

Select the desired category folder so that it is highlighted.

Click the Commands button and choose Import Template.

Browse to the location on your hard drive where your templates are stored.

Select one or more templates. You can use Shift + Click and Ctrl + Click to select multiple templates.

Click Open and the templates will be imported into the organizer in the category you selected in Step 5. If you've selected many templates the import process may take several seconds.

Click the Close button.

Once you have added templates to the Organizer they will be added to the Available for Use section of the Sidebar.

To save a file as a template in the Template Organizer:
  1. If it is a new file, save it using File > Save.
  2. Choose File > Save to Template Organizer.
  3. Enter a name for the template that you will see in the Organizer.
  4. Select the folder category where you want the template to be stored.
  5. Click OK.
