1.2
There are many exciting new features in Lotus Symphony 3. First, you'll notice how easy it is to switch to different views by using the buttons and tabs at the bottom of the window.
1.3Clicking the first button, we can make changes to the template, or master slides, that will be used when new slides are created. Just click the same button again to get back to your slides.
1.4We can now play the screen show right from here, either from the beginning of the slides or from the current slide.
1.5Besides the Normal view that we began in, we can switch to the Outline view, the Slide Sorter view, or the Notes view.

Designing tables

2.1
It's easier than ever to design a professional looking table quickly.
2.2
When working in a table, the sidebar displays appropriate options, including table design options.
2.3
By accepting the default options, with one click we can make the table yellow and add shading to every other row.
2.4
Maybe we'd rather just add shading to the 4th quarter to show our focus. You can also change the table fonts right from here as well. Experimenting with these table designs is easy!

Adding animation effects

3.1
Nearly 200 new animation effects have been added to Lotus Symphony 3 Presentations. Let's try out a few!
3.2
In this slide, we'll see how to show bulleted items one by one and move a graphic from one place to another on the slide.
3.3
You need to select the text box before you can see the Animation Effects command in the right-click menu.
3.4
We've already added an effect to the first and second bullet. Now you'll see how to add it to the third bullet. Click Add. You can see how many different effects there are to choose from. The Entrance and Exit effects address how an object appears or disappears. There are other effects designed to emphasize the object.
3.5Bringing in your bullets one at a time is an is an Entrance effect. Watch as the effect previews on the slide and gets added in the sidebar.
3.6Choosing On click allows me to start the entrance effect by just clicking anywhere.
3.7For the finishing touch, we'll select the graphic and add the Entrance effect called "Rise Up." Let's also change the speed to slow.
3.8You should know, you can reuse an object with its effects, on another slide or even in Lotus Symphony Documents. To do that you simply copy and paste the animation effect from the sidebar to where you want to reuse the object. Although we don't need the sun here again, it is nice to know you can reuse and object and its associated effects.

Showing your screen show on another display

Here's a feature that enables you to view your speaker notes on your monitor while the audience watches the screen show on a different screen.
4.2
Use the Screen Show Settings window to set this up.
4.3
Once you're connected to an additional display , the needed settings are visible. Select Display 2 to display your screen show on this secondary monitor. If your system were set up for your screen to span multiple displays, you''d see the All Displays choice.
4.4
Now, while you're looking at your notes on your monitor, the audience will see the screen show! You just need to remember to click to activate your animations!

Thank you
