Hi Travis,

The marketing team has been promoting the 6.1 release pretty steady on the WebSphere Portal product page. But a few sparklers on the page when we released would have been appropriate!

I thought these links might be helpful.

The announcement letter was released in June '08.
We use a modified version of Steve Castledines dx feed reader, running on a domino server. We allow people to add feeds and then subscribe to any number of those available. Every hour or so you get mailed a link to any feeds that have new content that you have subscribed to, right to your inbox. We can combine external and internal company feeds here. Its a great way to keep up to date with stuff that is important or relevant to your tasks.

For more personal or self indulgent stuff I use the feed reader on my blackberry, which is where I picked up this post.

The notes 8 reader needs to grow from a personal widget into an enterprise application. I need it to sync with my blackberry and for it to offer a feed of new feeds to help disseminate information. Atom pub rocks and lotus should do something to help users take advantage. Thanks for the chance to give an opinion.

I like the idea of wikis for information that I need only sporadically for specific tasks, such as Redbooks. However, I do not like the idea of wikis (or info centers) replacing traditional Notes client, Administrator or Designer documentation in point releases.

I would like to see the help databases updated with each point release rather than having to go to release notes and scour the web to find out about changes between the installed help and the release I am using. I understand it has always been this way, and it has always been annoying and a burden. The end result is people think the help is wrong, and it is. But it's only the installed copy on their computers that's wrong, and it won't be correct until the next major point release.

I'm mentioning this here because I don't know another way to share this feedback. If there is a more appropriate method let me know. :-)
