Developing the information you need to leverage Lotus products

Wow! It has been a whirlwind week, hasn't it! Workshops, sessions, labs, showcases, interviews (interrogations?!), networking, certifications -- how does everyone keep up? This was my first year attending LotusSphere, and I'm this ->    <- close to being overwhelmed. I've tried to get out and meet and greet team members, business partners, and customers who are interested in all my products, but as I've been focused on the Certification Prep Lab, I missed a few. That being said, I'd like to make a big shout-out to three people: Sam Allen of Essential Forms, Patience Rockey of LEOnline, and Sandy Monroe of ScanSource.

Sam Allen approached Joyce Davis, Amy Smith, and I about better getting started documentation for domino developers - aimed at the people with no previous Domino or Designer (or computer engineering) experience. Just a few words from Sam had Amy and I back and forthing on how to leverage existing internal documentation, thoughts on tutorials, ideas for the wiki... Sam, you kickstarted an explosion of ideas. We'll definitely be getting back in touch. On a related note, someone else (and shame on me for not writing down the name) came by with suggestions for "What system administrators need to know about app dev" and "What application developers need to know about system administration" - which I think will make great wiki articles!

I'm so glad I met Patience Rockey! It's really good to know that there are business partners out there with an interest in Lotus Forms - and believe me, I have a whole lab full of people just waiting to quiz you about your customers and their interests. :-)

And finally, thank you to Sandy Monroe, who gave me a kick in the pants to think outside the box regarding courses for Domino application development. Sandy tells me that there is a whole community of people out there who would like certification for developing web applications for Domino (without involving Notes). We are definitely going to want to know more about that, Sandy!

So what do you think? Do these ideas/issues affect you? Need to expand on one of them? Please comment and let me know!
