The aggregate functions are some of the most commonly used functions. The aggregate functions supported by MashupHub are:
- Average (Avg)
- Maximum (Max)
- Minimum (Min)
To use the aggregate functions in MashupHub, you must first ensure that the elements that you want to perform aggregation on are entirely contained within an element higher in the XML tree.
Because aggregation is performed on all of the designated elements, instead of a single element, the incoming feed must contain this higher level element. Before you use an aggregate function, you must look at the structure of the source feed so that you know what path in the feed you want to apply the aggregate function to.
Information and examples using aggregate functions
There are several places where you can get specific information about using aggregate functions:
- Examples. See the Aggregate Policies Example. You can access the Examples from the Home tab in MashupHub.
- MashupHub User and Administrator Guide. See the section "Use aggregate functions effectively" in Chapter 3. Overview of feed mashups
