The Website Displayer
widget displays a website. You can either configure the Website Displayer
widget to display a particular website by specifying a fully qualified URL, or you can wire the Website Displayer
widget to receive a URL string from another widget on the page.
When configuring the Website Displayer
widget with the URL of a website, confirm that the site is trusted and does not contain any malicious code. If you are not sure, mark the widget as non-trusted before you drag it onto the mashup page. To learn how to mark widgets as non-trusted, see the Marking widgets as trusted and non-trusted
topic. Also, you may notice that certain websites result in memory leaks in your browser, which in turn results in slower performance. If performance becomes a problem, try configuring your Website Displayer
widget with a different URL.
Also, certain websites may be designed to display only in a browser and not inside a frame. If you configure your widget with one of these sites, the website will open in its own browser and not in the widget. Users can simply click Back
to return to the Mashup Center page.
To display a website, configure the widget to point to a valid URL on the Web. The URL must be fully qualified, for example http://www.ibm.com. Note that the Website Displayer
widget does not send content to other widgets on the page. It only receives content to display a website.
See the following table to learn which events the Website Displayer
widget can send and receive:
Table 1. Website Displayer events
|This widget does not send content.||URL using URL (HTML): receives and displays a URL from another widget |
