You can configure IBM® Enterprise Content Management Widgets (IBM ECM Widgets) to communicate with Content Manager EE servers. You can use IBM ECM Widgets with Content Manager EE servers only, or you can use IBM ECM Widgets with both Content Manager EE servers and IBM FileNet® P8 servers.
If you use IBM FileNet Business Process Manager to manage Content Manager EE documents, you can use IBM ECM Widgets as an end-user client.
The servers that you connect to affect the components of IBM ECM Widgets that are available:
- If you use IBM ECM Widgets with only Content Manager EE servers, only the IBM WEBi widget is available.
- If you use IBM ECM Widgets with Content Manager EE servers and IBM FileNet P8 servers, all of the widgets that are included with IBM ECM Widgets are installed, and the following widgets can be used with Content Manager EE:
The Viewer widget can open Content Manager EE documents by using the viewers that are provided by IBM WEBi. Attachment widget
The Attachment widget can attach Content Manager EE documents to FileNet Business Process Manager work items by using IBM WEBi to search for documents that are stored on a Content Manager EE server. IBM WEBi also enables IBM ECM Widgets users to view, download, and edit documents that are attached to FileNet Business Process Manager work items. IBM WEBi widget
The IBM WEBi widget is installed in IBM ECM Widgets. The IBM WEBi widget enables users to search for and work with Content Manager EE documents from IBM ECM Widgets.
In order to enable IBM ECM Widgets to work with Content Manager EE documents, you must configure IBM ECM Widgets to work with IBM Web Interface for Content Management. IBM ECM Widgets uses IBM WEBi to communicate with Content Manager EE servers.
See the hardware and software requirements document to verify the IBM WEBi version required for enabling IBM ECM Widgets to work with Content Manager EE documents.
