IBM® ECM Widgets supports two ways to process a work item: in step processor pages or in widgets on the same page as the in-basket.
About this task
Typically, business analysts create a step processor page as a separate page and open it in a new tab within Business Space powered by WebSphere® after the end user opens a work item.
Another way to process a work item is to use a single page. With this approach, the In-basket widget and step processor widgets are located on the same page. The single page is useful if all work items in the in-basket can be represented with the same user interface or widget layout, and there is sufficient space on the screen to show both the In-basket and step processor widgets.
When enabling single page mode, the work item will always open on the same page, no matter how the step processor page is configured in Process Designer.
To configure the In-basket widget so that the step processor opens in one page only:
- From the In-basket configuration panel, click Advanced.
- Enable the option Do not open step processor in a new page.
The work item opens in the step processor widgets that are on the same page as the in-basket. The step processor page that is configured in Process Designer will not display.
When using a step processor page in global page mode, be sure to log into only one session at a time. If you log into a second space and make changes to the widget configuration, those changes will not appear in the first space until you log out of the first session, and then log back in to Business Space powered by WebSphere.
