You use a step processor page to create a new work item or to complete an existing work item. IBM® ECM Widgets includes a set of Step Processor widgets that you can use on a step processor page.
The Step Processor widgets support two processing modes:
This mode is used when a workflow is launched. When the Step Completion widget receives a workflow name, it switches to Create mode and functions as a launch step processor. Update mode
This mode is used to process a step. When the Step Completion widget receives a WorkItemId payload in the Receive Work Item Id handled event , it switches to Update mode and functions as a step processor.
Both modes are supported by the step processor widgets: Header, Work Data, Work Data eForm, Attachment, and Step Completion. The widget behavior changes depending on the processing mode.
On the Step Processor page, the Step Completion widget acts as a controller to coordinate the create, initialization, save, complete, and close activities among all Step processor widgets. Other step processor widgets are optional.
You cannot add the Work Data eForm widget to a page that contains the Work Data widget. In addition, you can place only one Work Data eForm widget on a page.
