There is no way to decompress attached Zip files on iPhones.
Consequently, Zip files attached to emails synchronized by Lotus Traveler cannot be read on iPhones.
We found an application (MK Unzip for Traveler) that can be installed on the Domino server running Lotus Traveler and that automatically decompresses attached Zip files at the time emails are synchronized by Traveler, so iPhone users can read them.
Attached Zip file decompression during email synchronization can be activated only for some users or groups so, for the users of mobile devices other than iPhones supporting attached Zip files, we can keep them compressed.
This app is just out of the box and being tested at few customers. It is provided by MK Net.Work, the vendor of the ZipMail compression suite for Lotus Notes and Domino. Although MK Unzip for Traveler is not yet mentioned on their web site, a fully functional evaluation package including help file is already available. You can ask their support services. (You will find their contact data on www.mk-net-work.com or on www.zipmail.com).
Hope this will help keeping your iPhone users happy…
