Hi Travis
We are IBM GMSR partner and seriuosly looking into LMC solution. Below is the scenario we are looking at.
We will have approximate 100 users who will access our Lotus Notes ONLY. They might not have standard e-clients so we dont want them into our networks thats why we dont want to give them our corporate VPN.
We want the simplest solution, in terms of hardware, authentication and setup.
Our current authentication is using Lotus notes ids and every user uses Lotus Notes client. From outside we access the corporate intranet through the VPN and access LN through the Lotus Notes clients. We also have an LDAP server with user information. I know that we can use this LDAP for authentication if we use Directory Assistance and set it to use LDAP for authentication. It is working in our test environment and i am able to access my mail through a browser using LDAP credentials from the intranet.
Scenario A
If we use Http Access Resource on the Connection Manager and set it up properly, and use LDAP as our authentication method, will the users only have to log in once and be authenticated against ldap and start accessing their mail?
If they just access the iNotes, will they need the Mobility client or any web browser anywhere will do?
Scenario B
If these specific 100 users have Lotus Notes 8 clients installed, and want to access their Lotus Notes through the client and NOT through the browser, do they have to install the Mobility client on their machines. Keep in mind we dont want to give them access to our corporate VPN, and in this case we will use LMC as a VPN solution.
Thanks for taking the time and looking at these queries.
