Excuse me? If you want to call me a name, do it to my face. I was offering an opinion much as you were. How does the opinion I offer make me "Ridiculous". I do not want recruiters blasting a forum like this much for the same reason others do, but it does not mean that all postings about employment are out of line.
My point is that you never leave a leaf unturned in a job search. It has nothing to do with a ring of "rightness". It has to do with your "ridiculous" contention that only bad or poor developers would respond to such a posting when that may not be the case (notice that I am attacking your position, not you personally).
Have you ever been unemployed for an extended period of time?
If this kind of posting were "out of bounds" for these fora, it would be so noted in the acceptable use policies of the fora. And it is not. And as I also pointed out, the R4/R5 forum has an "Employment" category.
I never said that the opposing "opinion" was against people getting jobs. In fact, I have publicly blasted recruiters in this forum for resource fishing with no meaningful job being there.
And the reality is also that you never know how recruiters will find you. Just ask any number of us that are blogging. I had an off-line conversation with the person who did the posting and it is clear that he did it for a very simple reason: the inability to find Domino Developers with a Top Secret/SCI-Lifestyle Polygraph. So he was trying a different approach.
I also think that this thread had a very good discussion about Security Clearances that others down the road may do a search on and find useful. So is that a bad secondary benefit?
I have no problem if you want to attack a statement/position that I make or have made, but do not attack me personally unless you know me. There is only one poster in here that I attack personally and others who use the forum regularly know who this is and why.
And just WHY do you think I am ridiculous (or is it just the name that is ridiculous to you)? I hope you have the backbone to answer publicly. That is one of the beauties of free speech and discourse.
