RE: They have Harkpabst Meliantrop 21.Aug.03 10:46 AM a Web browser General All ReleasesAll Platforms
Take a look at any other forum on this planet and you'll find, that plain everywhere else you are at least /informed/ wether some kind of formatting - be it HTML or proprietary stuff - is allowed or not. On each single posting form.
Is there any notice regarding the fact, that the use of pass-through HTML is not allowed? If so, it's well hidden somewhere in this monstrous orge called the IBM Website. Add that to the fact that it still works in the preview which I do use to my worst bullshit from beeing posted.
You carefully choose your words to imply that I had tried some sort of abuse of this forum. Couldn't be farther from truth. What entitles you to decide wether or not I need some sort of formating? What feeds your arrogance to instruct me to either use the "right" tool or shut up? It would be a snap to implement some sort of parser to remove any potentially harmful HTML but leave basic formatting intact. Using pass-through HTML is a basic Notes feature (at least to developers). Simply taking it away without any hint makes it - right - *my* problem, not IBM's. Apart from beeing unfavourable style.
Face it, technically this forum is belowe second grade and everybody knows. I accept the fact that this is to a certain degree down to Domino itself, otherwise someone would have come up with a better template for sure.
Still the progress (or lack of) of the usability of this forum further illuminates IBMs committment towards the domino plattform. I like the current version better than any previous one and I can for sure live wihtout formatting text (/appart/ _from_ *good old* ASCII pseudo formatting). But I can't live with your strange ranting attitude: "Want colors? Use the Notes Client."
Exluding the one posting where I vented my anger about this cool "feature" I have to insist on that all of my postings to this thread were strictly on topic.
