This question was received by a customer in the Notes from Lotus Support blog....
Dear development team,
I am curious to know more about what is being done on the following fronts in regard to DWA... I doubt that I am the only one that has had these issues and would like to know more about what is being done to address them.
First and foremost is the lack of useful and meaningful error messages. When I call support with an error message and I get a response "well that could be one of 50 or so problems..." I am neither filled with confidence nor amused about working through 50 problem solutions to find mine. For example, the Internet Explorer issue with Zlib compression messing up the AJAX functionality.
Second, why is DWA so slow? Even on the LAN of the server, deletion or messages, sending of messages, each operation feels like a complete page reload and is polar opposite to the AJAX design concepts... Are there things in the works to make it a faster user experience?
Last, I really feel that you need to better the user experience for when DWA is running over a slow speed cellular connection or worse... Dialup. I have a few users that are on the road and whenever they get stuck without high-speed access, DWA will seem to freeze the browser as it downloads the reply window and all the associated icon buttons, etc. I find a lot of support tickets on this issue simply because users believe that their systems are 'frozen' when it is simply slow network connectivity.
Thanks! -Cheers, Peter.
