Shane Kane 9.Jun.06 01:25 PM a Web browser
Domino Designer 6.5.4 AIX

In a server-based database, I have a Java agent with a class that's found when the agent runs in Notes, but not on the web.

The agent (below) prints 'Point A' and 'Point B' while running in Notes. However, it only prints 'Point A' while running on the web. From this, it seems that a class (XfoObj) is found in Notes, but not on the web. The class is in a package (jp.co.antenna.XfoJavaCtl) that's contained in a JAR (XfoJavaCtl.jar). This JAR was added to the agent through its 'Edit Project' button and the agent compiled successfully. The same JAR was added to the /lib/ext directory on the server and this is referenced in the JavaUserClasses variable of the notes.ini as follows:

JavaUserClasses=/opt/ANTHaxfov3/lib/XfoJavaCtl.jar

The JAR has full permissions on the server and is also referenced in the server CLASSPATH.

System.out.println("ErrorLevel = " + errLevel

errMessage);
}
}

public class JavaAgent extends AgentBase {

public void NotesMain() {

XfoObj axfo = null;
try {
System.out.println("Point A");

axfo = new XfoObj();

System.out.println("Point B");

} catch(Exception e) { }
}
}

When the agent runs on the web, the last thing that the Log shows is the following: 'HTTP JVM: Point A'. No error is displayed and the web page hangs, which requires Domino and HTTP to be restarted on the server.

I'd appreciate any ideas on why the 'XfoObj' class is not recognized when the Java agent runs on the web.

Thanks.
