Notes Single Logon Resolution Brett Hanlon 14.Aug.06 07:07 PM a Web browser Notes Client 6.5.2Windows 2000
I have seen dozens of posts regarding Notes Single Logon. Here is some input that may or may not be of any value:
We are using Notes 6.5.3 in a Multi User configation, with the the id files stored locally (in docs and settings tree). After practically giving up on Single Logon I made one change that made all the difference.... Make the Lotus Notes Single Logon Network Provider the first one in the list. To change that setting go to the Network Connections control panel applet, select the Advanced menu and choose Advanced Settings. Go the the Provider Order where you can move the entries around.
(With that change made, and the Single Logon service set to automatic, reboot before changing passwords)
Once I made that change I was able to change sync my OS/Notes password in either direction. Things we had to consider:
If the user has our Support desk reset the AD password they MUST select the option to force the user to change it on next logon. This is of course because the OS and AD passwords are necessarily the same thing.
When setting or changing the passwords you have to keep in mind the AD and Domino password policies. If they do not match then there is the real likelyhood of sync failure.
At least in our case we did not have to mess with notes.ini settings, gina.dll settings, reg tweaks, or anything of that nature.
