Does anyone know why a url formatted as shown below would work (and successfully run the agent) if I paste the url into Word (and make it a hyperlink) .. or even just paste it into Sametime or a Notes document - BUT does not work when pasted into the browser address bar? (IE 6)
We have a (non-Notes) client server application from which we're successfully utilizing a url in this format. This method was necessary because I can't use the url syntax which uses the uid because the calling application does not know what the uid of the doc is. So we are using a 'key' which the application can build. The agent uses that key to find the correct document and opens it in the client in edit mode. For various reasons we need to open it in the Notes client rather than the browser.
The url is working fine except now we discover that a web version of the application does not render the urls as clickable urls. Apparently they're just being displayed as text. The folks who support that application are going to reach out to the vendor to see if this can be fixed.
In the meantime a short term fix was to try and have the user copy and paste the url into the browser address bar. For some reason this does not work.
What am I missing? Does anyone know why a url would not work when pasted into a browser address bar when it works when used in those other methods?
