Emily C Graham 19.May.04 10:13 AM a Web browser
Domino Designer 6.5 Windows XP

I'm trying to get my head around the Domino Web Server Configuration database at the moment. I've successfully mapped to a custom change password form in a separate database which works fine. My problem is that when you submit a valid change request, Domino comes back with a very vague "Password Change Request submitted" message. Then after a few seconds, you get redirected to whatever is in the RedirectTo field.

What I'd like to do at the very least is change this message so that it says "Password change request submitted, you will be returned to the menu in x seconds". But can't for the life of me find where to edit this. Ideally, I'd like to be able to redirect to a form of my own with a nicer message. I've tried using a $$Return field on the form but this seems to get ignored.

I have two questions following on from this:
1 - does anyone know of any DECENT documentation on the Domino Web Server Configuration database (domcfg.nsf). The information in Admin help is extremely sparse and contains almost no information about the password change form. During my searching today, I did come across an article which went into quite good detail about the login form, but nothing about password change. Something from the developer's view would be great, i.e. explaining what fields are needed and how they are used, etc. I had to guess how to get something to appear in the RedirectTo field.

2 - Has anyone sucessfully modified the "Password Change Request submitted" message, and how did you do it?

And I've just thought of a third:

3 - Where is it oficially documented that in order to get the user to the change password screen, you have to give them a link with '?ChangePassword' in it? I spent quite a long time trying to find that out before I eventually found it in a post here.

Sorry if I sound a bit ranty, but sometimes Lotus' documentation leaves me feeling like I've been banging my head against a brick wall!
