My understanding is that 3rd-party client apps can use the domino ldap service to authenticate; that is, if such clients support ldap authentication.
The third party client we're using has settings to point to an ldap server. It will pass a username+pw to domino. We need domino to return a thumbs-up or down on the UN+PW and provide the Common Name of the user - which the 3rd-party client will then grab and use.
Is ldap the right tool? Is this possible or recommended, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Any suggestions appreciated.
