Just for people's info as I couldn't find any other reports of this anywhere else (I have no idea why that nsf file wasn't there, or even if it was there before, but there you go). Obviously this worked for us but your mileage may vary.
Problem:
We recently had a problem where Domino Web Access stopped working completely. Attempting to login brought up the redirect page but then a 'File not found' error appeared when loading the mailfile. The situation progressed when the HTTP server task was restarted. The effect of this was that mailfiles would load but in the old-style Lotus Domino Webmail format rather than DWA7. This system relies on Java (rather than ActiveX) and this created a number of support requests from people that didn't have Java installed.
Solution:
The forms7.nsf (or forms*.nsf depending on the version of iNotes/DWA) needs to be present within a folder called iNotes in the server's data directory (/local/notesdata/iNotes on our Linux server). Once you have copied a working copy of this file to this folder, you can replace the design of any individual mailfile with dwa7.ntf to restore functionality. Nightly tasks will update all mailfiles on the system.
