RE: Is it True?????????? Patrick Montavon 30.Aug.05 10:45 AM a Web browser Domino Everyplace All ReleasesAll Platforms
Absolutely right, Ben. This mud-flinging has been repeated every year, by the same players ever since the first version of Exchange and always comes out of the same filthy corner. How credible can these peope be, when they've announced the death of Domino/Notes for many years and it's still alive?
What gets me even more is the sheer comparison between Domino/Notes and Exchange. Comparing apples to oranges anyone?
Domino/Notes is much more than e-mail software and companies using more than the e-mail core functionality will not switch to Exchange just for the sake of it.
Small businesses opting for Exchange? Very doubtable, since small businesses can't afford a full time admin for their IT infrastructure, which will be needed for running Exchange. A Domino admin in a small business will not need to be a full time admin and be able to devote the majority of his time for a profit generating position.
Small businesses will rather opt for the free Outlook Express client and go with an unexpensive ISP. The latter may be running Exchange, but it's not like some additional Exchange license sold.
