Domino does not get mail delivery info (very URGENT!)
Marek Wojtaszek 09/08/2006 08:02 AM
Domino Server 6.5.4 Solaris

Please help before we all go mad here :(

Problem description:
Users of Domino server sends internet mail to their customer.
The mails goes to mail.box, router routes the mail but in log there is a message "0 messages transfered" - so the mail still resides in mail.box. 10 minutes later - router again tries to send the same mail - the same situation. The scenario repeats for many hours.

On the receiver's side (not Domino user) the situation looks slightly different - he/she does receive the mails ON EACH SERVER's ATTEMPT!
So, after couple of hours he/she gets tens of same mail in his/her mailbox.
The conlusion: Domino retries to send the mail again and again becacuse it does not receive back the information from the receicer's mail server that the messages were succefully delivered, although they definitely WERE delivered!

One could say - something is wrong on the receiver's mail server side (Qmail). But, if so - why they have problem with this sender only?
Another may say - something is wrong with the sender's Domino server configuration. If so - why thousands of another mail to another receivers are delivered with no problems?

Please - suggest something. Where should we look for the solution?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Marek
