We have a main server which receives all external mail and then we have sub servers at our different business units. The main server will transfer email to the sub servers.
We had a strange situation today, the domino server was delivering mail correctly to local recipient and transferring to sub servers.
The problem though is that users could not open their mail file on the main server. I checked on the miscellaneous events and found following message '08/03/2011 12:14:42 AM Error connecting to server xxx/Servers/xxx/MU: Remote system no longer responding'. xxx/Servers/xxx/MU is the server name of the main server.
Can you please help me out, I still cannot explain how the server was delivering/ transferring mail though there was an error. Any comments will be most welcomed. I also need help in troubleshooting these type of problem, any materials/ links will be most welcomed. Only thing I did was to stop domino service and restart.
