Alan J White 1.Aug.07 04:10 AM a Web browser Applications Development 6.0.3 All Platforms
I'm working at a large Company that makes significant use of Notes ( ~ 26,000 clients 6.03 - 20+ servers 6.5.5 - over all 24 timezones)
We are deploying a new application that all users must access ( there are several replicas on different servers in different TZ).
We intend to send each user an email with a calculated Notes URL to guide them to the approriate replica. This works fine in actually reaching the database but Notes URL does NOT add the database to the workspace by default.
None the less the app owners want the database to add itself to the users workspace (in case they lose or delete their email)
I have tried to do this from within the application using both formula code - @Command( [AddDatabase] ) - and Lotuscript - NotesUIWorkspace.AddDatabase - but neither seem to work.
(BTW: I've tried various places to run this code and other variants e.g. @PostedCommand)
NONE SEEM TO WORK.
Has anyone else had this problem? or solved it?
Is this a known bug ? (cant find any reference)
Is it perhaps a side effect of the fuctionality with the Notes Client that stops DB opened by Notes URL adding themselves to the workspace"
FYI: I have considered using a DB Link within original email
-which WOULD automatically add the database to the workspace-
but my users prefer a Notes URL - simply saying 'there must be a way to add the databaxse programatically' :=)
