Richard Gottlieb 8.Dec.10 05:29 PM a Web browser Domino Server 6.5.5 FP2 Windows 2000
Years ago, I set up server based archiving--all went well and it succeeded with an Explicit Archive policy, Archive Settings, and Archive Criteria Settings. All the archive DBs are on another drive saved as ex. archive\a_richardg.nsf. Users can access these DBs via their Notes Client by clicking Tools, Archive...and then their archive DB opens. The only trouble is that, and go figure, powers that be didn't like having their mailfile separated like this. So, I haven't performed an archive process in years...but all the framework is still there.
Now my question is that say if I want to archive a few users whose mailfiles are crazy big (about 25GBs) now, and they were archived years ago during that first go-round, what happens now? If I tell it to archive documents not modified after 6 months, all of those documents will dump into the existing archive DB created and not touched years ago? Any gotch-yas here?
