I have a form that has a Date/Time field on it. The display is set to be mm/dd/yyyy and I'm always displaying a 4 digit year. The problem is that sometimes a user will enter the month and year only (i.e., 9/04) intending for that to be interpreted as 9/1/2004 but of course it isn't. I’ve noticed that if the year is entered as something in the 21st century, Notes immediately converts the year to 2007. So, 9/04 becomes 09/04/2007. On the other hand, something like 6/69 is converted to 6/1/1969. I've been asked to either (a) enforce the correct date format or (b) have 9/04 convert to 9/1/2004. I can't figure out how to reliably do either. If I use the Calendar Control the user can still enter the date in the wrong format and I can't figure out to write a script or formula to validate the format on the save.
Is there a way to stop the field from automatically being converted to the current year?
Sorry if this is confusing or I'm being stupid. Seems like this should be simple but I cannot find the answer. I've looked in Help and on this forum and I give up.
