RE: Re: Delete mail from server Robert J Adams 24.Mar.09 10:19 AM Lotus Notes Domino Server 6.5.5 FP2All Platforms
Again, I would recommend calling in again and explaining it exactly as I had outlined and state that you do NOT want to use POP3, but rather, you want to use Replication. I would not let them Close the PMR until they assist you appropriately.
I would also suggest reading all the information in Help regarding Replication, as it is quite helpful. Once you read the information and test a little, you will get the hang of it and understand what to configure and such.
Overall, you can create an Archive policy to remove documents not modified in more than 1 day I would suggest. Setting it to 0 could definitely remove documents before they are replicated down, etc. I would even suggest setting it to 18 days or so. This will allow users who are on vacation time to come back in the office and replicate down. The Server will only keep mail on the Server for the set amount of time and then delete it if you configure it that way.
To detail each step would be quite lengthy, confusing, and possibly incorrect depending on your environment and such. With this kind of issue Tien, you really should call into IBM, open a PMR, explain the issue as I outlined it previously, and do not let them Close it without assisting you further.
Again, Notes Help is definitely your friend in this case. When you are in the Replication Settings, simply click the "?" Button in the Top right and, depending on which tab in the Replication Settings you are in, the associated Help Topics will be outlined for you to review.
I apologize I am unable to be of further assistance Tien, but I am confident that once you review the available documentation and further confer with IBM Support, your questions will be answered.
