Hi Brent,

I've tried the code (see new code below) from the link you posted from Andre, but get the following error which stops on the "workspace.EditDocument..." line:

"Incorrect argument type: object expected"

Dim doc As NotesDocument
Dim rti As NotesRichTextItem
Dim UidocNew As NotesUIDocument

Set newrespUIDoc = workspace.ComposeDocument( "", "", "SRLADoc" )
newrespUIDoc.Refresh True
Set doc = newrespUIDoc.Document
Set rti = doc.GetFirstItem("Recommendation")

Call rti.AddNewline(1, True)
Call rti.AppendText(Now & ": log entry.")
If session.NotesBuildVersion >= 190 Then
rti.Update ' ND6 only
Else
Call doc.ComputeWithForm(True, False) ' caution, as this may erase some field values if you have @Db functions in formulas.
End If

doc.SaveOptions = "0"
Call newrespUIDoc.Close(True)
Set uidocNew = workspace.EditDocument(True, doc, , , , True)
Delete Newrespuidoc
UiDocNew.Document.RemoveItem("SaveOptions")

I also tried using 'FieldSetText' on the UI document, but can't get it to format properly as it doesn't add line breaks. (see code below).

Dim recommendationstring As String

recommendationstring = "Proceed to the Cabinet Meeting of / / ." + Chr(13) + Chr(13)
recommendationstring = recommendationstring + "Refer to Cabinet Committee" + Chr(13) + Chr(13)
recommendationstring = recommendationstring + "Further consultation required" + Chr(13) + Chr(13)
recommendationstring = recommendationstring + "Further work on the proposal or presentation of the submission is required" + Chr(13) + Chr(13)

Call newrespUIDoc.FieldSetText("Recommendation", recommendationstring)
