(A lot late to this party but I somehow missed it when it was first active... I just wanted to provide a definitive answer for you.)
The button in the NAB was only intended to help Admins who needed to add a missing Room or Resource to their NAB. It was nicer than telling them to use copy/paste and editing NAB docs (and possibly doing something wrong).
As others have already noted the primary R&R work should be done in the R&R dB itself. If you happen to loose a NAB record for some reason you can use the buttons to replace what was lost.
