Subject: Upgrade: OS(2000/2003) & Domino(7.2/8.52)
Feedback Type: Question
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Install
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.2
Reproducible: Not applicable

As R7 coming to end of life support, we need to upgrade our R7 server environment to R8.52. The Admin Server for the Domino Directory is a 2000 /7.02 server and I am wondering what is the best practice (suggested) to accomplish this
on the same machine. Our server guy told me that the best practice for the OS upgrade is to wipe it clean and do a fresh install of 2003 and then do a restore of domino.

a. Should we do the OS upgrade first and then Domino upgrade? In this case clean install of 2003 and then restore and then upgrade.

b. Should we do: Clean install of OS, clean install of 8.52 and copy system and other database files from previous version to new data folder, update the new notes.ini by doing copying pasting from old ini to new ini,

Thanks in advance for any input.
