Subject: Sending mail through Notes without mailbox
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: Administration
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.3
Reproducible: Always

Good morning all. We have a situation where we are using Lotus Notes for databases and Outlook for mail/calendar etc but will eventually recreate the Notes apps in SharePoint. Several of the Notes apps include routines that fire off emails in the postsave event of the forms. Most of our existing users have Notes mail files on the Notes server with person docs etc so we simply add a forwarding address to the person doc to their Outlook address and all works just fine. However, we've recently hired a few new people and set them up in Notes without mailboxes just so that they can use the databases. When we add the same Outlook forwarding addresses to those person documents,Notes throws an error message for those users that reads "File does not exist". Is there a way to make this work without the existence of a Notes mailbox? If not, whats the best approach to creating a mail file for them after the fact?

Thank you in advance
