Multiple author fields, with a CN in one and abbreviated in another
Others, in decreasing order of likelihood of you not noticing;
Users used to be editors, now are authors
Group names are in some authors fields
A formula in a different field has been changed, this populates the authors fields
Keywords of people names now are abbreviated where before they were common names
A lookup to different database not returns abbreviated names where before it returned canonical
Just to notes, fields that thought may have contained abbreviated names might have contained canonical and only displayed them abbreviated
From the 8.0 help file
"You must enter the user's full hierarchical name in the Authors field.
If you manually enter a name in the Authors field, Domino expands and stores, for example, John Smith/ACME/West is stored as (CN=John Smith/OU=ACME/O=West) in its hierarchical form. The name displays in its abbreviated form.
If you programmatically enter a name, you must use the full canonical form such as CN=John Smith/OU=ACME/O=West."
