Subject: DAOS on replicated Servers - Advice Please
Feedback Type: Question
Product Area: DAOS
Technical Area: Administration
Reproducible: Not applicable
Hi, I'm looking for some advice on DAOS and can/does it work with mail files replicated on multiple servers?
I've read the 8.5 wiki, searched RedBooks and here but can not find any definitive info on whether this is possible!
Scenario - we have 4 Domiino 8.5.x servers for mail dbs. There are 2 "live" mail servers for different users which both replicate to a single Backup Server. There is also a Webmail server for all in the DMZ.
All servers are compliant with requirements to run DAOS and there is no clustering, only replication schedules keeping it all in sync.
So each user's mail file is on 3 Servers and is accessed via 2 of them (Live or WebMail) depending on their location at any given time.
The main question is, when a user accesses their mail on the Webmail Server can they have access to the attachments which will have been stored in DAOS by their home "live" server?
A secondary question, the mail files are all backed up from the Backup Server (so basically the same attachments question for there too)
Many thanks in advance for any relevant information. I suspect the answer may be a simple "no way" but live in hope.
