Hello,
I am working on a rather strange error.
We started managing a Domino domain with many policies signed by ID's of former company. After signing these policies, some preferences in Notes clients get populated although, these preferences were not set in policies.
It is a rather urgent situation since it is a very large domain with many users and organizations affected.
The values that get populated are:
- Scan for unread: Enable
- Encrypt sent mail: Enable
- Encrypt saved mail: Enable
- Lock ID after N minutes of inactivity: 20 minutes
- Sign messages that I send: Enable
Again. These settings were all untouched in desktop policies.
As a possible solution our admins tried to set these values to default and set as initial values. Clients were sent a script button that deletes all policy docs in NAB. After restart some clients were OK for a couple of days but then the preferences were wrong again.
Users are not roaming.
Affected clients vary from 8.5.1 -> 8.5.3 including versions with fixpacks. There are just too many to state all of them.
Administration Domino server is 8.5.3.
I recreated one policy from scratch and applied to one of the organizations. Hopefully we will see a change in clients.
