Performance without Symantec

A couple posts suggest that stopping the AV from scanning the Notes directories significantly improved the performance. I'd sure like to know the timed results. I've actually removed Symantec from a desktop and only saw a 10 second improvement over the 55 second load time from enter to password dialog on a newly started PC. So I don't know what you're really seeing. Be aware in testing that launching Notes a second time without a restart on the PC will result in significantly faster load times due to caching on the PC so make sure when testing that you're starting from the same point on the PC. My results saw a load time on the second starting of Notes to be about 20 seconds (vs the 55 on a newly started PC). Obviously, this would appear to be a significant improvement but has nothing to do with the AV being on or off.

As a comparison the the Basic Notes 8 client loaded in 6 seconds from enter to password dialog.
