More agreement!

I think we will install Standard, adding the -sa switch on the shortcut(to start BASIC). While most of our machines meet recommended requirements, I'd be uncomfortable making Standard the 'Standard'.

It would be easy enough to create an alternate software deployment to remove the -sa if our hardware catches up.

I've seen some posts where people seem to have tuned up their configuration enough to make it usable, but not (reasonable) when you compare it to Basic!

8 has been out long enough I've given up on seeing a tuning FAQ of some kind. I was hoping there would be something obvious like poor OpenGL support on my system slowing me down, but based on the lack of response to these posts...

If nothing else, IBM, can't you make an install option that preloads some of the bottlenecks at OS startup, so we can at least pretend its faster overall? (And yes, I disabled the Productivity Editors, that didn't help much)
