I'm getting following error when installing fresh on Lotus Notes 9.0.1.

Error 1406.  Could not write value to key \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\.....\ blah blah.

Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

I've never ran into any issue installing the client.

Suggested to do the following I found on the web.

This issue occurs when the permission for the Everyone group of the \SOFTWARE registry subkey is not set to Full Control.


Have you guys ran into this issue?

We copied the exeutable file from network drive and ran as administrator fixed the issue.
