  • IBM Support Assistant
IBM Support Assistant now includes data collection for Domino!
The IBM Support Assistant (ISA) Workbench provides a platform for you to easily download and use various problem determination and analysis tools at no charge. You can now customize the ISA Workbench with a Lotus Domino product add-on to collect data from Domino servers. In addition, Domino tool add-ons are also available for the ISA Workbench to:
  •  Analyze NSD logs
  •  Tune the configuration and performance of your servers
  •  Allow an IBM support analyst to view your desktop and share control of your mouse and keyboard
  • ...and more....
IBM Support Assistant Lite for Notes & Domino is now available for download!

ISA Lite automates collection and submission of files that IBM Support analysts need to identify, diagnose, and recover from occasional operational problems with IBM products. Using IBM Support Assistant Lite, you can quickly collect and submit Notes/Domino files to IBM Support.

To get started using ISA or ISA Lite

  • Domino Configuration Tuner
Take 30 seconds to download the easy-to-use Domino Configuration Tuner (DCT) and start comparing your Domino environment to a set of best practice rules to identify configuration problems.  Once you have DCT installed, click "Check for Updates" to download new rules which are added monthly.  Here are the new rules added since November:
    AMgr_UntriggeredMailInterval
    - notes.ini AMgr_UntriggeredMailInterval allows administrators to specify a delay (in minutes) between running of the Agent Managers check for untriggered mail.

    TCPIP.RuleIDPostfix.PortCompression
    - notes.ini TCPIP setting value indicates whether or not Domino ports have compression enabled

    TCPIP.RuleIDPostfix.PortEncryption
    - notes.ini TCPIP setting value indicates whether or not Domino ports have encryption enabled

    AMgr_DocUpdateAgentMinInterval
    - notes.ini AMgr_DocUpdateAgentMinInterval allows administrators to specify the time between executions of the same document update triggered agent.

    AMgr_DocUpdateEventDelay
    - notes.ini AMgr_DocUpdateEventDelay allows the admin build a delay into the Agent Manager schedule for a document update triggered agent after a document update event.

    AMgr_NewMailAgentMinInterval
    - notes.ini AMgr_NewMailAgentMinInterval allows administrators to specify the time between executions of the same new mail triggered agent.

The Wiki Redbook:  Building Domino Web Applications Using Domino 8.5.1 is now available! The focus of this Wiki Redbook is helping you understand improvements in IBM Lotus Domino 8.5 as a Web development platform. The primary focal point is the introduction of XPages in IBM Lotus Domino 8.5 and discussion of how XPages dramatically shortens the learning curve for Notes and Domino developers. Not only do XPages now allow you to incorporate Web 2.0 features and functionality into your web applications, but XPages continue to leverage your existing Domino development skills, while intuitively incorporating new design element features.

A new developerWorks article XPages Straight Up has been published. This article provides a general introduction to JavaScript in XPages and explains how to use JavaScript to create, view, edit, and remove documents in an IBM Lotus Domino application. It also shows you how to tie the data from these documents to controls on the XPage.

Notes and Domino Information Center goes international for release 8.5.1. In previous releases, only Alloy for IBM and SAP and Lotus Notes Traveler had available translations in the Notes and Domino Information Center. In release 8.5.1, the documentation for Lotus Notes, Domino Administrator, and Domino Designer is available online in the same languages that are also available for the Help in these products. To see another language in the Information center, switch to the language in your browser and refresh the page.

Notes.ini documentation has moved to the Notes and Domino Wiki. With considerable assistance from Professor INI, the Domino ID team has migrated the Notes.ini documentation to the Notes and Domino Wiki. The team has also begun documenting new Notes.inis in the Wiki.

Customers can locate Notes.ini information by:

    - searching on the .ini variable name
    - browsing by .ini variable name, alphabetically. The Wiki now includes index pages for Notes.ini information.
    - browsing by platform: Domino, Notes, or iNotes. This option appears on the Notes.ini category page.

Professor INI is eager for feedback on the new home for Notes.ini information. It is also the Professor's hope that our customers will share their Notes.ini knowledge and experience, as well.

    IBM Support Portal
The IBM Support Portal is live!
In January 2010, Software Support switched to the IBM Support Portal as the online support experience for all your online technical support needs.  IBM Support Portal has been available since June 2009 as a public demo.

What will the IBM Support Portal give you?

The IBM Support Portal provides you with a centralized view of all technical support tools and information across IBM systems, software, and services.  You can tailor the pages to suit your needs, focusing on the products you care about and organizing the portlets on the pages to reflect the way you work.  Our goal is to simplify your online support experience, reduce the time it takes to find the information you need to solve problems, and alert you to information that can help you avoid problems.
