In that sense, it's certainly less disruptive than a phone call, or a knock on the side of your cubicle."</em> <br /> <br /> I agree with the article whole-heartedly. &nbsp;I don't imagine I'd be as effective in my job without instant messaging (and of course, we use Lotus Sametime as our IM tool). &nbsp;I also don't find IMs annoying or intrusive because I don't have to look at them until I'm ready. &nbsp;Working remotely, I can't "roll over" to the person next to me in the office to ask a question, but I think I'd prefer to send them an instant message anyway. &nbsp;That way, they can respond to me when they finish their current train of thought, or hang up the phone, or get bored with the conference call they are on. <br /> <br /> An interesting article indeed.   ]]></content:encoded>
