Lotus Notes 8.x Tips

Your guide to what's great about Notes 8 (and higher)

When I went to Lotusphere earlier this year (my first time going!), I talked to a few people about keyboard shortcuts, which I do tend to use a lot. So this week, I thought I'd share some of my favorite shortcuts, and also ask you what your favorite shortcuts are.

Here are a couple that I use pretty often:

  • Mark an email read or unread -- Insert
  • Select multiple emails/documents in a view -- Click first document and then Shift+click for consecutive documents; Ctrl+click for non-consecutive
  • Indent  a paragraph -- F8  (to undo that, Shift+F8)
  • Open an attachment -- Open the email then click the space bar (Thanks to Gottfried Palinkas for this one!)
  • And of course all the formatting shortcuts like Ctrl+B for bold, and Ctrl+X / Ctrl+V for cut/paste.
  • I do a lot of formatting from the toolbar, but sometimes I'll use Ctrl + K to open the text properties box, which gives you a few more options like strikethrough and superscript:

What about you? What are you favorite keyboard shortcuts, or the ones you use most often?
