If you are setting up a Derby database for the Tutorial Sample application, edit the database service.properties file to use the derby driver. The file is located in the directory where TutorialSampleApp.zip was extracted (for example, c:\Cloudscape). Replace db2j with derby as shown in italics for the following lines. Then save the file.
  • derby.serviceProtocol=org.apache.derby.database.Database
  • derby.serviceLocale=locale_name
  • derby.storage.propertiesId=16
