Follow these steps to enable e-mail notifications for the Alerts module.
- Make sure the Scheduler feature set is installed into your project.
- Edit the following settings in the email.xml file in WEB-INF\solutions\alerting\xml_persistence\notifier_defs, then save the file and deploy it to the server.
"Enabled" - set to true
"EMail.mail.host" - provide the name of your mail server
"EMail.mail.user" and "EMail.mail.password" - provide values if your server requires authentication to send e-mail
- Access the "Manage Alerts" portlet and enable notification for one or more of your alert definitions.
- Access the "My Alerts" portlet and click the Edit icon for the portlet. Go to the "Subscription" page, and choose which alerts you want to get notifications from. Then go to "Notification" page to provide your e-mail address. Save these settings.
