The Dojo Data Grid and Dojo Data Store builders work together to provide the ability for a client page to directly fetch remote data and render it on a page.
Use the Data Store builder to fetch various types of data, for example, XML or JSON, and make it available to a widget on the page that has Dojo data store enabled. For example, you can use a Dojo Data Store builder to have the client page fetch a list of orders in an XML format from a specified URL. You can then use the Dojo Data Grid builder to display the orders in a tabular format.
There are other Dojo widgets that can use the data store for their content, for example, the Dojo ComboBox widget. For information about the Dojo Data Store and Data Grid widgets, refer to http://www.dojotoolkit.org
The Dojo Data Grid builder creates two client-side IBM® WebSphere® Portlet Factory events for handling clicking or double clicking on a row of the grid. The generated event names use the builder call name appended with _onRowClick
. You can use the Client Event Handler builder to handle these events. You can also connect or override other grid methods and events using the Grid Script Tags
The Dojo Data Grid (dojox.grid.DataGrid) requires that you supply it structure information for the data that is used to populate the grid. One of the following ways can supply the grid with its structure.
If you use the Dojo Data Store builder as the grid data source and specify a schema-typed XML Variable, the builder automatically creates the structure. You can use the Rich Data Definition builder to modify the schema to change the element order and labels.

You can manually enter the grid structure using the Grid Structure
builder input. For more information, refer to Grid Structure
