The builder definition is an XML file that defines the builder characteristics.
The builder definition also defines the inputs to the builder and the editors with which users can specify the builder inputs. The builder definition file is generally divided into the following sections.
- Header elements
There is not really a heading section in a builder definition file. The term header is used to refer to several of the elements that are in every .bdef file, most of which are each just a single line in the XML format.
- Input definitions
Input definitions consist of data definition elements, data definition containers, page data elements, and page data containers.
- Group definitions
Contains elements to define groups that allow inputs to be treated together in the user interface.
For an example of a builder definition file, see the Javadoc description of the BuilderDef interface.
