Once these classes are created, the profile set management tools can be used to select the new handler for a given profile set.
An XML file is used to describe the named profile selection handlers and the Segment List class. In this handler definition file you must specify the name of the class that implements the ProfileSelection interface. Handler files are stored in the J2EERoot\WEB-INF\config\selection_handlers
To create a new handler you must create a new file with the structure shown below and place it in the selection_handlers directory. A typical handler file structure looks as follows:
<Handler name="File Segment Handler">
<Description>Handler that maps users to a segment using mapping data from a simple xml file.</Description>
This file describes the following items:
The name of the handler. This name is used as the display name to allow the user to select a handler for their profile set.Description
A short description that specifies the functionality of the handler.Selection class
The class that implements the ProfileSelection interface. This must include the full package name.Properties
These are optional name/value pair properties that will be passed as a map to the init(..) method of your ProfileSelection and SegmentList implementation class.SegmentList class
The class that implements the SegmentList interface. This must include the full package name. This is an optional value that is used by a Customizer UI to get the list of segments for this handler.
