You can modify the layout of data page elements in multiple ways.
Page automation elements in your model can be modified in the following ways.
- Use drag and drop operations in the Design panel to rearrange page automation elements and create a new layout based on standard design layout patterns.
On most pages, you can use drag and drop operations to reorder columns and rows. Using Layout Tools in the WebSphere® Portlet Factory Designer palette, you can also drag a layout pattern and drop it on your page in the Design panel.
- Use a data layout template to modify the page layout.
Using a Data Layout builder, you map data page fields in your model to targets in a data layout template and set field types. With the data layout template, you establish support for reusable custom patterns.
- Directly edit the HTML code in a data page layout.
Using this feature, you are taking complete control of the HTML page layout and are effectively disabling the automatic generation of the page and losing the benefit of page automation support in your model. Use this capability only when you have some unusual layout and you really need to control the display precisely.
