Use the REST Service Call builder in models in which you want to call a Representational State Transfer (REST) style service.
This builder supports the GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE HTTP operations.
The REST Service Call builder provides the following functionality:
- Sets up a REST service call to do an HTTP GET, POST, PUT, or DELETE operation.
- Optionally generates an input schema based on input parameters or body content specified in the builder inputs.
- Optionally generates a results schema by using sample data from an HTTP request to the specified URL.
This builder creates a data service in the WebApp that describes the service inputs (parameters), outputs (results), and action (execute) name. The name of the data service is the same name that you specify in the Name
input for this builder call. The data service can be used to reference these items when you are authoring your model.
Using SSL with the REST Service Call builder
To use an SSL URL with the REST Service Call builder, you will need to add a security certificate to your application server or Designer JRE in order to make outbound requests to a secure server. See this wiki article for more information:
