After you create your new project or upgrade a current project, you need to complete a few more steps to see your Web application or widget in action.
1. Build the model
To create a new model, click File -> New -> WebSphere Portlet Factory Model.2. Publish the project
To work with sample Web applications or widgets, include the Tutorials and Samples feature set in your project and use the Project Explorer to open one of the files in the models/samples folder.
In Project Explorer, right-click the project, click Publish Application, select the server, and click OK. To publish widgets in a project to the IBM® Lotus® Mashups server, right click the project and click Widgets -> Publish Widgets to Palette. Select the widgets you want to publish and click OK. 3. Run to test
4. Export for production use
To test your model, run it on the server to which you published your project.
- In Project Explorer, select the model to test.
- Double click to open the model.
- Click the Run icon .
To export a finished project to a production server, right click the project and click Export and the configuration for the target server. To publish widgets in a project for production, right click the project, click Export, and select the correct WAR for your environment. Click Finish. The WAR file is created. For widgets, this file is the package file you upload from InfoSphere® MashupHub or run in the Lotus Mashups server.
